INFORMATION ON BANKS OF BARGARH
Bargarh District ,from the date of formation has played a pivotal role in the field of Agriculture, Industry, Business, Commercial, Handloom Production, management of water recourses and implementation of various Developmental Schemes launched by Government from time to time in general and exemplary contribution in the field of paddy and other agricultural production and cash crop i.e.- sugarcane & Cotton.
. The District has planned Rs. 2217 crores under Annual Credit Plan for 2015-16 .
At present , 140 Branches of 25 Nos.of banks operating through out theDistrict . .
Bargarh Dist.has achieved the rare distinction of achieving 90% in priority sector of total advances in the year 2014-15 . Similarly with 78% of C.D. ratio & 78% in achievement of ACP , Bargarh again occupies No.1 status among all Districts. The total outlay under “Priority Sector” for the Dist for the 2015-16 amounts Rs.2217 cores .
Predominant Economic Activities prevalent in the District:
Agriculture such as Cereals and Pulses, Oilseeds, Sugarcane
Allied activities such as Dairy, Poultry, and Fishery etc.
Non-Farm Sector activities.
Major Food/ Commercial and Plantation/ Horticulture Crops:Paddy, Vegetables, Sugarcane, Groundnut, Green Gram, Cotton, Chilly and Ginger are the major crops grown in the district. National Horticulture Mission, BGREI, RKVY, ISOPOM is working in the District through various Government Departments.
Factors affecting the District Rural Economy:
One of the major factors affecting the economy of the rural areas of the District is drought in un-irrigated areas. Besides, incidence of occasional hail storm and pest attack, also affect the crop production in some areas of the District. Implementation of water harvesting techniques in dry land areas would mitigate the drought situation to some extent.

As per the decision in the DCC and various BLBC meetings, all the 246 GPs of the District have been allocated to various Bank Branches, for the purpose of financial inclusion and other Government Sponsored Programmes
