National Youth Day Celebrated
Bhuabneswar, 12th January .2018: (By Minaketan Jena)-Society for Nature, Education and Health (SNEH)- a registered NGO, celebrated National Youth Day at SAMPRITI-a centre for Peace and Non-violence established by the organization in Bhubaneswar in 2009. A program involving the youths from different colleges and slums of Bhubaneswar was organized on the occasion. The event offered a platform to young minds to discuss and debate various burning issues of the day and the role and responsibilities of the youths to meet the emerging challenges of the society. Both boys and girls actively participated in the discussing putting forth their views on role of youth as peace builder at the time of social unrest and communal conflicts.Incidentally SNEH has been implementing peace building and conflict resolution programs in both Kandhamal and Bhubaneswar city. The Bhubaneswar centre has been functioning as a peace resource-cum-training centre for the peace lovers of the state. On the occasion of the National Youth Day the speakers enlightened the audience about the contribution of Swami Vivekananda to universal brotherhood and world peace. They also exhorted the young people to work as peace ambassadors in a society which has been divided by narrow parochialism and religious jingoism. Sri Bikram Nayak and Raghunath Mandal made inspirational speeches on the occasion. About 50 youths participated in the event which was coordinated by Sri Subas Panda, Advisor, SNEH.
