Bhubaneswar / Krishimukh 2018 on 07th January 2018, – Sri Sri University conducted its third Agribusiness Conclave organized by Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies(FCMS), started off with the words from The Dean Prof.Dr. P. Srinivas Subabarao where he introduced all the dignitaries and wished luck for the succeeding event.The event started with Gurupuja followed by lamp lighting ceremony by honorable guests Mr. Kamal Kumar, Senior Divisional Manager;DhanukaAgriTech; Shri N. C. Pani, DGM, NABARD and Kameshwar Kota, Founder, 19 Farms along with Vice Chancellor, Dr.Nand Lal and Dr.P. Srinivas Subbarao, Dean, FMS, SSU. Prof. (Dr.) Nand Lal, Vice Chancellor, Sri Sri University, then took the floor and quoted J.F. Kennedy ‘Farmer is the only man in the economy who buys everything in retail and sells everything in wholesale’. He also threw some light on the importance of technological upgradation in the field of agriculture to get the best out of the agri resources.Mr. Kamal Kumar, spoke about the abundance of resources in India and its indiscriminate use leading to productivity gaps in the agricultural sector which could be solved only by disseminating technology to the farmers. Shri N. C. Pani, said that the main motive to improve the agricultural development is to shift it from ‘subsistence to sustenance’ level. He educated the audience by listing a few important Government initiatives and policies for the betterment of agricultural sector. He also highlighted on the role of NABARD in agricultural development. Mr. Kameshawar Kota, who is also an alumnus of the university, talks about natural farming, micro-biotic agriculture and theuse of pesticides.Also, a remarkable Odissi dance performance by students of the Faculty of Performing Arts highlights the beginning of the conclave.The first event of the conclave is on “Agro Business Focus on Logistic and Marketing of Food & Agro Products”.The second technical session invites idea on “Sustainable Infrastructure & Allied Service for Agricultural Enterprises”. The faculty and students of Agri-business Management gear up to witness some good research, innovation and entrepreneurship through this day long intellectual charming.
