BHARAT SCOUTS & GUIDES JAMBORETTE AT BHUBANESWAR INAUGURATED.
Bhubaneswar 7th January 2018 (By Prasant Kumar Bhuyan) 18th All India Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides Jamborette has been inaugurated by Shri D. K. Gayen, Member Staff of Railway Board in presence of Shri Umesh Singh, General Manager of East Coast Railway at Sports Complex of Mancheswar Carriage Repair Workshop, today.Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gayen said that Scouting activities develops in every child the fundamentals of discipline and also makes them brave and strong enough to face any situation. Gathering of Scouts and Guides from different parts of India under a single roof will exchange culture, tradition, language, food habits, folklore etc., from different regions.Gracing the occasion, General Manager, East Coast Railway Shri Umesh Singh said that, Scouting Skills in the field of First Aid, Pioneering, Compass, Mapping and Backwoodsman Cooking etc along with Social Awareness activities, Disaster Management, Human Chain & Route March on Social Awareness and Pageant Show will definitely help all participants to make themselves good human beings in their future life.Informing about the Jamborette at Bhubaneswar, East Coast Railway Principal Chief Personnel Officer cum State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts & Guides Smt. Manju Ray informed that ECoR is organizing this mega event for the first time in Bhubaneswar from 6th to 11th January, 2018 where more than 2500 Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides volunteers from 16 Zonal Railways all over the country are participating.Amongst others, Smt. Madhulika Singh, President, East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (ECoRWWO) along with Shri Rajeev Sharma, Additional General Manager of East Coast Railway and Principal Heads of Departments of East Coast Railway were present to mark this occasion.After the inauguration, Drill Display competition was held between the 16 Railway Zones. The Drill & Display was based on pyramids, physical exercise, fire fighting, lathi play, yoga, malkhambs, gymnastics, aerobics, juggling, etc.A colourful and uniquely choreographed cultural function was organised in which all the 16 teams presented their best skills.
