World AIDS Day Celebration in Jeypore
Jeypure ,1st December 2017 (By Jitendra Sahoo) World AIDS Day was celebrated in Govt. Women’s College, Jeypore in collaboration with Sub-Divisional Hospital Jeypore, LEPRA Society TI Jeypore and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jeypore and Youth Red Cross Govt. Women’s College Jeypore in the College premises on 1st December 2017. In this occasion Sri Dillip Kumar Maharana, Tahasildar Boipariguda was invited as the Chief Guest and Dr. D.B. Tripathy SDMO Jeypore as Chief Speaker. The Speaker of the occasion made aware the students for zero tolerance to AIDS. The Chief Guest promised to provide all sort of assistance for the noble cause of eradication of AIDS and AIDS awareness among the people of the locality. Honourable guest Sri Sankar Prasad Duria, Faculty in P.G. Department of Political Science Vikram Deb (Autonomous) College has pointed out various issues relating to health & hygiene and different constitutional rights of the citizen for their protection of life. Lalita Manjari Pattanaik, Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Social Activist Mrs. Andrew Cobb of Life Foundation, Appala Naidu, PO of LEPRA Society, Principal of Govt ANM Training Centre Jeypore, Sri Prabhudan Bhatra, Director of ANM Private Training Centre Jeypore, Mrs. Manaswini Takri, ICTC Counsellor SDH Jeypore were the honourable guests of this occasion. All the guests highlighted the message of consciousness among the people and to uproot the dangerous disease in every corner of the society.grand rally was organised by the students and staffs of Govt. Women’s College along with ANM Students, Sub-Divisional Hospital, LEPRA Society TI and District Legal Services Authority from Rajanagar to Govt. Women’s College, where hundreds of students and social activists participated in this rally. The participants enchanted World Aids Day theme of the year “My Health is My Right” and different slogans on the devastating effect on AIDS and aware the people to remain away from AIDS. Meeting was presided by Dr. Kanakalata Mohapatra and the whole programme is managed by Sri Ramahari Karji and Seema Mohapatra Lecturer of Govt. Women’s College, Jeypore. A Short Play is played on AIDS awareness by the students of Govt. ANM Training Centre, Jeypore under the direction of Manoj Kumar Panda. Different Literary Competitions were conducted among the students to remember the World AIDS Day and the winners were awarded with the Prize by the Guests. Best ASHA Karmi prize awarded to Nirmala Harijan and Usha Bisoi, Best Peer educator prize awarded to Smt. Sunita Mudi and best Social Activist prize awarded to Mrs. Andrew Cobb of Life Foundation for her social service. At the end Bidulata Samajdar, Counsellor of LEPRA Society proposed with vote of thanks to all the guest and participants for making this programme successful.
