Parents meet CM: Aggrieved CBSE XII students: BCJD, NSUI join protest; CBSE Results Escalate as Officials
Bhubaneswar, May 31:(By Debabrat Mohanty) – two-member Central team arrived at Bhubaneswar to sort out the discrepancies in Class-XII results published by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), a group of affected students whose results were withheld met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here seeking his immediate intervention to ensure justice for them. two As per latest updates, the two officials have discussed the modalities with the officials at the region CBSE office. The aggrieved students along with their parents met the Chief Minister and apprised him about the problem. CBSE officials deputed by Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar to look into the discrepancies in Class XII results reached the city today, the protests outside the CBSE office turned fierce with student’s wings of political groups joining in. On Monday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wrote to the Union HRD minister to take up the matter since hundreds of Class XII students are suffering owing to results of many being initially withheld and later allegedly showing disparity. Union Minister for Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan had also met the students outside the CBSE office here. Later, the HRD minister, Javadekar had tweeted that he deputed two officials to resolve the issue. The results of thousands of students of Bhubaneswar zone were shown as withheld creating avoidable anxiety to many students and their parents”, the CM said. Patnaik said a lot of discrepancies have reportedly been noticed in the subject-wise results of many students. Students,” said state NSUI president Itish Pradhan.On the other hand, the affected students and their parents continued with their sit-in dharna in front of the office today. Meanwhile, the two CBSE officials– Controller of Examinations KK Choudhury and deputy secretary DK Goel– deputed by Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar to sort out the issue arrived in Bhubaneswar and held discussion with the officials of the regional office.“As many as 10 teams will be formed at 10 regional centres to consider the students’ problems,” the Controller of Examinations said.“The issue will be resolved in 15 days. However, there is no option of re-evaluation of answer sheets this year. Only photocopies of answer sheets can be provided to the students,” said CBSE Bhubaneswar Zone assistant secretary Jagabandhu Pradhan.Worth mentioning, results of some students in Bhubaneswar zone students urged the CM to ensure that CBSE rectifies the discrepancies immediately. Notably, on BJP leader from Odisha and Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan too apprised Javdekar about the problems .
