Truck Detained of carrying beef in Odisha capital; 2 men driver detained

Bhubaneswar, May 20:(By Debabrat Mohanty)  Mini truck driver Tension gripped Rasuglagarh area here this morning as a group of people intercepted a truck with an allegation that it was loaded with cow meat and didn’t let it go. According to information truck was coming from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar allegedly transporting beef from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar was detained at Rasulgarh here on Saturday. The incident came to light in the morning after few locals intercepted the truck after it was responsible for a series of accidents on the National Highway. “I narrowly escaped after the truck hit my vehicle near Palasuni and later it was detained by locals near Rasulgarh,” said Bijay Ketan, an eye-witness. After stopping the truck near Rasulgarh, which was on the way to Bhubaneswar from Cuttack, Rasulgarh square after the news about the truck carrying meat spread. Police have detained the driver who is being further interrogated in connection with the incident. “The meat samples have been sent for examination and further investigation is on,” said a senior police official. Hit a vehicle near Palasuni and escaped from the spot. Moments later, it dashed into another vehicle at Rasulgarh following which locals intercepted the mini truck. Suspecting it to be beef, locals informed police about the incident.  Large number and detained the driver for they alleged that the truck was carrying cow meat. Other local people soon gathered there and shouted at the driver. Police have reached the spot and started inquiring into the matter.
