We will certainly provide a platform for him.”Joining the party, February panchayat election in the State, particularly in Mayurbhanj district, the ruling BJD today roped in JMM leader and former SCB Medical College Students’ Union president Debasish Marandi to strengthen the party in the tribal dominated district. Welcoming the Marandi, Patnaik said his joining will certainly strengthen the party in Mayurbhanj district. Notably, opposition BJP had formed the district council in Mayurbhanj district in the February panchayat election. Marandi joined the regional party in the presence of party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence. He said, “When I was the student I was dreaming how the healthcare services will be improved in the tribal-dominated district Mayurbhanj. I am thankful to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his efforts that the tribals of the district will get health services at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital.”“Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has continued his effort for the upliftment of poor, downtrodden, tribals and weaker sections people in Odisha. Being influenced by his ideology, I am joining the Biju Janata Dal by leaving the senior medical officer post at NALCO. I will work hard to serve not only people of Mayurbhanj district but also entire Odisha to strengthen the party,” he added.Notably, the Naveen government will complete its three years rule successfully of its fourth term on May 21.  The development came a day after the CM made an unscheduled visit to Baripada panel’s nod for admission in Baripada-based Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital for this academic session. Patnaik has called an all BJD members meeting on May 20 to give his message I am thankful to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his efforts that the tribals of the district will get health services at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital,” Marandi said.Yesterday Patnaik made a sudden visit to Mayurbhanj district to monitor the work of Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital at Baripada.However, Patnaik’s love for the tribal dominated Mayurbhanj district started after the ruling BJD faced serious electoral defeat in the district during the recently concluded three-tire panchayat elections.Of the total 56 Zilla Parishad seats in Mayurbhanj district,  former student leader of SCB Medical College & Hospital and Senior Medical Officer of NALCO Debasish Marandi joined the ruling BJD here today.Marandi joined the BJD in presence of party supremo Patnaik at Naveen Niwas.Welcoming the leader, who left his job in NALCO to join the party, Patnaik said, “I am very glad that Dr Debashish Marandi joined the Biju Janata Dal today. He had been the student leader of Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital. He will be leaving his job from Nalco to join the party. All of us welcome him. Stating that the party welcomes Marandi, Patnaik said the doctor belonging to the tribal community, will be a tremendous asset particularly in Mayurbhanj district.“We welcome more and more professionals to join the BJD. We will certainly provide a platform for him,” Patnaik said.Marandi Marandi expressed his gratitude to Patnaik for the Supreme Court panel’s nod for admission in Baripada-based Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital for this academic session. Patnaik has called an all BJD members meeting on May 20 to give his message while remaining were captured by the opposition BJP.
