Bhubaneswar, May 14: (By Debabrat Mohanty) Demanding immediate ouster of Sam Pitroda from the post of Technical Advisor to the State government for his alleged involvement in the National Herald property grabbing case, the State unit of the BJP staged a demonstration at Master Canteen here on Sunday. Vice-president of BJP’s Odisha unit, Samir Mohanty said, including women participated in the protest rally at Master Canteen Square here and burnt the effigy of the telecom guru.“Firstly, Sam Pitroda is one of the accused in the National Herald case. Secondly, since his appointment as the technology advisor to the State Government with Cabinet Minister Status, he has not yet visited Odisha. State Government on the contribution made by former National Knowledge Commission Chairman Sam Pitroda as technology advisor with Cabinet Minister Status, the BJP on Sunday took to the streets demanding immediate dismissal of Pitroda. The party alleged that Pitroda has been working as a middleman between Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik and Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The BJD and Congress have forged an ‘unholy nexus’ which is not a good sign for the State.“The people of Odisha have always been deprived of their rights due such unholy alliance of the ruling party and the opposition,” said Mohanty, adding that BJP would continue to fight to protect interest of the State.Reacting on BJP’s allegations, BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma while addressing a press conference had said, “Pitroda is a co-accused with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case. Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik has given him a Cabinet Minister rank because BJD and Congress have internal relationship. Pitroda is close to the Gandhi family and acts as a bridge of link between them and Patnaik.” BJP workers staged a demonstration at the Station Square here today demanding sacking of Odisha government’s Technical Advisor Sam Pitroda. Slogan shouting saffron party activists led by the party’s state unit Vice President Samir Mohanty demanded Pitroda’s removal alleging the latter’s involvement in the National Herald scam along with Congress’s Sonia and Rahul. The demonstrators alleged that the Congress has functioned as a crutch for Naveen Patnaik.BJP workers during the demonstration demanded details from the state government about Pitroda’s performance since his joining as the Technical Advisor to the state government. On the other hand, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) spokesperson Sarat Rout has rubbished BJD spokesperson Dibyasankar Mishra said BJP should wait for court verdict on the case. “If the honourable court finds Pitroda guilty in the case, the govt will take necessary action,” added Mishra.Earlier on Saturday,
