Senior Clark Arrested by Vigilance on graft Charge
Bhubaneswar , 4th May 2017 (By Debabrat Mohanty) -On 04.05.2017, Sri Alok Kumar Mohapatra, Senior Clerk, O/o Project Director, R&R, Kanpur Irrigation Project Basudevpur, Keonjhar was caught red handed by the Officers of Vigilance, Balasore Division, while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.50,000/- from the Complt. Sri Bijaya Munda, S/o late Dargaba Munda, Vill- Dhobakuchuda, PS-Champua, Keonjhar towards payment of arrear compensation amounting to Rs.3,09,900/-.Investigation of the case revealed that during construction of Kanpur Irrigation Project, the Govt. acquired the land of the complainant Sri Munda vide Plot Nos.1304 and 1305 out of Khata No.27 at village Dhobokuchuda. In this connection, he had received Rs.2,33,100/- and Rs.1,04,000/- in two installments and was supposed to get Rs.3,09,900/- from the Water Resources Department as compensation. The complt. repeatedly requested Sri Mohapatra to process his file for payment of arrear dues, who demanded Rs.50,000/- as bribe for the above purpose. Finding no other option, the complt. reported the matter to S.P, Vigilance, Balasore division. Accordingly, a trap was laid on 04.05.2017 at about 10.35 A.M. The accused Sri Alok Mohapatra, Sr. Clerk, was caught red handed in the O/o PD R&R Kanpur Irrigation Project, while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complt. Sri Munda. As per direction of the accused Sri Mohapatra, the complt. Sri Munda handover the bribe money to him, but seeing the Vigilance Officials, the accused Sri Mohapatra brought out the same from his trouser pocket and threw it on the office floor. His hand wash and his trouser pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe. His rented residential house and officer room at Basudevpur, as well as his father- in –law house at Pandabanagar, Bhubaneswar are being searched. Accused Sri Mohapatra is being arrested and forwarded to the Court.In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. case No.22 dt.03.05.17 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 has been registered.
On 04.05.2017, Miss Swaruparani Biswal, GPTA (Gram Panchayat Technical Assistant), Gumma Block was caught red handed by the Officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division, while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from Sri Uttam Kumar Pani, S/o Premananda Pani, Ashrayagarh, Gajapati to prepare the arrear bill amounting Rs.70,000/- relating to execution of the work “Construction of C.C road from Tala Sahi to Gulaijung at Ashrayagada”.The gist of the case of that the complt. Sri Pani was allotted work order relating to execution of the work “Construction of C.C road from Tala Sahi to Gulaijung” at Ashrayagada of Tarava Gram Panchayat under Gumma Block, Dist.Gajapati with an estimated cost of Rs.3,00,000/-. The accused Ms. Biswal, GPTA was in additional charge of Jhami and Tarava GPs of Gumma Block, Gajapati. Hence, the complt. requested the accused GPTA to prepare the arrear bill amounting to Rs.70,000/-, who demanded Rs.10,000/- as bribe for the above purpose. Finding no other option, he reported the matter to S.P, Vigilance, Berhampur Division.Accordingly, a trap was laid on 04.05.2017 at about 10.40 A.M. The accused Miss Biswal, GPTA was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.10,000/- from the complt. Sri Pani inside the Block premises. The accused received the bribe money and kept the same on the office table of the cashier and covered a file on it. The tainted bribe money has been seized in presence of witnesses. The accused has been arrested and will be forwarded to the court. Her residential house situated at Parlakhamundi and parental house at Goilundi, Berhampur are being searched.In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. case No.25 dt.03.05.2017 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 has been registered.
Revenue Inspector Arrested by Vigilance on graft Charge
On 04.05.2017, Sri Firoj Meher, Revenue Inspector, Sindhol Revenue Circle under Ulunda Tahasil, Dist-Subarnapur was caught red handed by the Officers of Vigilance, Sambalpur Division, while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.2,500/- from the Complt. Sri Mangulu Kishan, S/o Sargu Kishan, of Vill- Hatipahula, PS-Ulunda, District Subarnapur for submitting enquiry report relating to issuance of Caste Certificate of his daughter Malati Kishan.Accordingly, a trap was laid on 04.05.2017 at about 10.00 A.M. The complt. Sri Kishan met the accused Sri Meher in his office room, who enquired from him about the bribe money. When he replied in affirmative, the accused Sri Meher instead of receiving the bribe money directed him to handover the same to one Hrudanadna Mendali, owner of Anup Photo Studio, Aiana chhaka. He also directed Sri Mendali over phone to receive the money from the Complt. on his behalf. As per the direction of the accused, the complt. proceeded to Ainla Chhaka and handedover the bribe money to Sri Mendali, who received the bribe money from him and kept the same in his paint pocket. After accepting the bribe money, Sri Mindali intimated to the accused Sri Meher over phone about acceptance of Rs.2,500/- from Sri Kishan. The bribe money Rs.2,500/- was recovered from the pant pocket of Sri Mindali and seized in presence of witness. Hand and pant pocket wash of Sri Mindali gave positive comical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe. Sri Firoj Meher, RI, and Sri Hrudanadna Mendali, owner of Photo Studio have been arrested and are being forwarded to the court.In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. case No.24 dt.03.05.2017 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 has been registered.
