Bhubaneswar-14.04.2017:(By Minaketan Jena)-On the occasion of Odia New Year, a women’s Kabaddi match was organized by Society for Nature, Education and Health (SNEH)-a registered voluntary organization, in Mayfair Nagar Basti of Salia Sahi slum in Bhubaneswar. Two women’s Kabaddi teams participated in the event. Kalinga Stadium team defeated the Unit-9 team by one point. The match ended with tough competition between the teams. This event is a part of the ongoing HIV/AIDS intervention program being implemented by SNEH among the slum communities. The main objective of organizing sporting activities is to inculcate a spirit of self esteem and self confidence among the marginalized youths of urban slums. This year’s program was inaugurated by SNEH’s President Ms Subarna Ghosh. Smt Sanhita Das, women’s Kabaddi coach attended as guest. Ms Parbati Parida and Ms Sradhanjali Panda conducted the match as referees.
