Bhubaneswar, 2nd April 2017.( By Prasant Kumar Bhuyan)–  panchayat samiti members of the party which comes barely two weeks ahead of national executive meeting here.On the opening day of the programme, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today met the elected members of the party from Jajpur district in the presence of MLAs and MPs of the district at the party headquarters here.“Chief Minister asked them to reach-out to people and educate them on the government schemes. Such meeting will again be conducted after six months,” BJD spokesperson Amar Satpathy said. Following the recently held panchayat polls across the State, Chief Minister and BJD party supremo Naveen Patnaik today met the party elected representatives of local bodies in Koraput and Jajpur districts at the ruling party’s State headquarters office in Bhubaneswar for the first time. Informing about the meeting, Naveen told newsmen, “The panchayat raj representatives presented various suggestions that they want to be fulfilled. I have also asked them to work honestly and hard for the people. after party’s Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda wrote an op-ed piece in an Odia daily for an immediate need to introspect and take corrective measures in the backdrop of BJP’s ever-increasing mandate in the recently concluded polls.“The elected representatives who ought to propagate government’s pro-people programmes have come to attend we will meet again after six months to review the situation.”Among other Dharmasala MLA Pranab Kumar Balabantara said, “The elected panchayat raj representatives were asked to ensure the government programmes reach the rural areas. Besides, they are directed to strengthen party organization in their areas as well.”Dasarathpur block chairman Sujata Sahu, who was present in the meeting with the party chief, said, “We are always with the people and working for their upliftment.” effective implementation of programmes and strengthening party at the grassroots level was discussed,” Dharmasala MLA Pranab Kumar Balabantaray said.
