The Department of Yogic Science at Sri Sri University, founded by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, will be hosting the Odisha Yog Mahotsav at Bhubaneshwar’s Janata Maidan from the 24th to 26th of March. The event will feature several interesting sessions such as ‘Yoga for Addicts,’ ‘Yoga beyond Gender’ and ‘Yoga for Management of Stress among adolescents.’ The organizers believe that the Yog Mahotsav is going to be a great leveler, serving to augment and propagate the classical knowledge of Yoga and its benefits to the masses at large. Ms. Pramila Nath, one of the organizers said that the objective of the event is to take the science of handling the mind and emotions to the people at large. “The Mahotsav is called ‘Yoga beyond the body’, because it’s not just about asanas. Yoga is about all the techniques and the knowledge that help bring a balance in one’s mind and body. We want everyone, irrespective of religion, community, age and gender to experience this holistic knowledge that brings peace and balance to our lives,” she implored.
