Human Rights Activist Mr. Sankar Prasad Duria, met the Nalco CMD
Bhubaneswar ,10th March 2017 (By Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan)-A delegation of NALCO Land Affected (Substantial Affected) Person’s Association (LAP/SAP), Damanjodi led by Human Rights Activist Mr. Sankar Prasad Duria, met the Nalco CMD Shri T.K. Chand in presence of Shri R.K. Mishra, General Manager (H&A) and Shri R.S. Das, General Manager (RA) at Nalco Office, Damanjodi on 10.03.2017. In the meeting Mr. Duria demanded urgent action on the rehabilitation issues of Land Affected families and requested the CMD to take the appropriate decision for the genuine rights and demands of the land losers. Though, the hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha has already expressed and directed the NALCO administration for providing suitable posts to the Land Affected/Substantially Affected Persons on 27.11.2015. Despite the intervention of hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha the LAP/SAP issue is not resolved so far.So, Mr. Duria along with Mr. Bhimadhar Khilllo, President of the Association met the Chief Secretary of Odisha and requested him for appropriate action in this regard. After that, the Chief Secretary directed through Additional Secretary, Revenue Disaster Management, Government of Odisha to CMD Nalco; ED Nalco Damanjodi; RDC (SD) Berhampur & Collector Koraput vide Letter No. RRC-PGVIP-0005-2016-3115 on 27-01.2017 to provide detailed report with in 10 days in this regard along with Action Taken Report on the decisions taken in CM’s Review on Nalco on 27.07.2015. In the letter it is clearly mentioned that, this may be treated as “Extremely Urgent”. Mr. Duria and Mr. Khillo expressed that we are waiting for the justice of the needy land losers and this action will be an example to others for further peaceful land acquisition for further expansion of NALCO. Members of the Association Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sadangi and Mr. Rajnikant Pani were also present in the delegation. Meanwhile, the CMD replied the delegation for appropriate and immediate action in this regard.
