CII session on ‘Advantage Odisha”Chennai-Visakhapatna Industrial corridor to expand to Balesore

-Odisha plans to achieve higher growth rate than Center in Manufacturing Sector
Bhubaneswar:(By Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan ) Odisha Government has a plan to expand the Chennai-Visakhapatna Industrial Corridor up to Balesore district. Initial discussion has already started in this regard as said by Industry Minister of the state Debi Prasad Mishra in a event here. He said that Government is in course of extending the Chennai – Vishakhapatnam corridor to Balasore. Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) organizes a session on ‘Advantage Odisha’ in hotel Swosti Premium today. Mr Mishra attended the event as guest, where he told that many more initiaties were taken by Government of Odisha to make a improvement in the ease of doing business index of the state. He said that Odisha is the number one in manufacturing state. Government of India has proposed to grow at the rate of 25% in manufacturing but at Odisha we have planned for 27% growth a bit ahead of the National figure with an proposed investment of 2.5 lakh crore by 2025. He added.Minister also said that the Industry department is working hard to ground in 1.0 Lakh Crore investments before the next “Make in Odisha” Conclave. He also mentioned the Vision document 2025 with was published, in which government aims of becoming the manufacturing hub of South East Asia.State principal secretary (industry) Sanjeev Chopra said that; “Department with CII is trying to change the perception of Odisha from a dormant state to an Industrial friendly state. Department is trying to remove physical contact between govt. and the people to improve ease of doing business. We had Launched a mobile applications “Invest Odisha” for tracking the application/ incentives/policies. He also gave figure where through single window dept received 63 applications/proposal out of which 60 was cleared within an average time period of 20days instead of 160 days earlier.rincipal Secretary (IT) P K Jena told that, “The incentives of Odisha state, given to the Industry which is better than maximum states of India. He said also said State would try to go a bit more ahead in given incentives in special case where it’s much needed.
He also mentioned the branding Odisha has come out well after “MAKE in Odisha Conclave” and the companies are trying to be a part of Odisha growth.CII Odisha State Council Chairman Sanjay Pattanaik welcomes all Delegates.He spoke on several initiatives taken on Investment promotion by Govt of Odisha, like MIO. CII’s eastern Region Chairman TV Narenderan said that about Odisha has traditional advantage of being a connect to South Asian Countries. This state also has inviolable educational infrastructure, creating good employable skilled labour for upcoming industries. It is has also pioneered ease of doing business before centre and many others states. It has proposed various manufacturing zone throughout the states. He added. CII Odisha State Council Vice-Chairman Dr TK Chand proposed vote of thanks and He also spoke about vision 2025, in which he highlighted 3 main points 1) To make Odisha Manufacturing hub , 2) RS 2.5 Lakh Crore Investment within 2025 , 3) To up the ladder in Purchasing Power.
