MINISTER OF STATE SHRI RAJEN GOHAIN TO VISIT EAST COAST RAILWAY
Bhubaneswar, 26.02.2017 (By Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan)–Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain will visit East Coast Railway on 27th February 2017 (Monday). During his visit Shri Gohain is expected to review the performance of East Coast Railway and the progress of various infrastructure related projects which are crucial to the industrial development of Odisha and Northern Andhra Pradesh.Shri Gohain has always laid highest emphasis on passenger amenities at Stations and on-board services on trains. He gives importance to local aspirations and needs of various regions with focus on connecting unconnected regions.Hoin’ble Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu had earlier visited this region just before Nabakalebar 2015 and again in April 2016. During his visit, Shri Prabhu had launched vital projects in this region. Shri Prabhu had also advised for speedy completion of pending Railway Projects like Khurda-Balangir line. He had taken special interest and made it clear that funds would not be an issue for any Railway Project in Odisha. In December 2015 and again in April and August 2016, Hon’ble MoSR Shri Manoj Sinha also visited ECoR and reviewed the performance of East Coast Railway and based on the feedback he received from East Coast Region, a number of positive policy measures were immediately initiated by Ministry of Railways.This visit of Shri Gohain, Hon’ble MoSR to Bhubaneswar is being eagerly watched by all Rail observers. His visit assumes significance in the context of the importance of the East Coast Region for Railways.
