Registration of 03 criminal cases against the Proprietors of defaulting Gas Agencies.

Cuttack ,18th January 2017 :  Basing on the allegation of black marketing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders and other irregularities by different Gas Agencies, joint surprise checks were conducted on 31.12.2016, 14.01.2017, 16.01.2017 and 17.01.2017  in 10 districts by the Officers of State Vigilance in various gas agencies of  Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Angul, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Ganjam and Khurdha. The Vigilance Officers were assisted by the Officers of Civil Supplies Department and Legal Metrology Department at the time of conducting the surprise checks.  After due verification, Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.02, dt.15.01.2017,  Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.03 dt.17.01.2017, Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.04 dt.17.01.2017 , Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS case No.02 dt.17.01.2017 and Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS case No.03 dt.17.01.2017  were registered. Continuing with further verification  and on availability of prima facie evidence of illegality and irregularities found in respect of their stock position of cylinders and registers/records, following case has been registered today:

1.     Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.5 dated 18.01.2017 U/s 7 E.C. Act, 1955 against Sri Parthasarathi Behera, Proprietor, M/s Sarathi Gas Enterprise, Tulasipur, Cuttack. On receipt of further  allegation of improper distribution and black marketing of LPG cylinders by M/s Maa Mangala Indane Gas Agency, its offices located at Panda Bazar, Bhabanipur, Pipil, Dist. Puri and Cuttack-Puri Road, Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar were   checked by the vigilance team along with the staff of Civil Supplies and Legal Metrology departments. During verification, physical stock of cylinders was checked along with the related registers and records and serious irregularities were detected leading to registration of following 2 cases:

1.     Bhubaneswar P.S.Case No.04 dated 18.01.2017 U/s 7 E.C. Act against Sri Rajat Kumar Pradhan, Proprietor  & Sri Rameswar Baral, Manager, both of M/s Maa Mangala Indane Gas, Pipil, Dist. Puri.  

2.     Bhubaneswar P.S.Case No.05 dated 18.01.2017 U/s 7 E.C. Act against Sri Rajat Kumar Pradhan, Proprietor & Md. Afsar, Manager, both of M/s Maa Mangala Indane Gas, Pipil, Dist. Puri.

Thus in its drive against improper distribution and black marketing of Liquefied petroleum gas cylinders and other irregularities by different gas agencies, the vigilance department has altogether registered 08 cases till date. All the cases are under investigation.
