SNEH Observes World AIDS Day
Bhubaneswar-1.12.2016: Society for Nature, Education and Health (SNEH) – a leading voluntary organization in the state observed ‘World AIDS Day’ by launching a publicity/information van. The van was flagged off from the campus of Ekamra College by the Principal, Sri Ashok Kumar Pradhan, and SNEH President, Smt Subarna Ghosh, in the morning. Prof Dr Manas Kumar Nanda exhorted the youth to spread the awareness message on HIV/AIDS among the vulnerable sections of society.The publicity van, depicting awareness messages and pictures, rolled into the slum near the Garabadu Crematorium in the Old Town area, where hundreds of Self-Help group women gathered to participate in a quiz competition on HIV/AIDS. The student volunteers of the Red Ribbon Club of Ekamra College staged a theme-based street play to disseminate awareness messages among the audience.Subsequently, the publicity van passed through the main thoroughfares of Bhubaneswar and similar quiz competitions and street plays were organized in Kargil Basti, Goutam Nagar Basti and Salia Sahi Slum. The quiz programme was conducted by Sri Prasant Kumar Pradhan.
