 1Cuttack 30.11.2016 (By Tapas Mohapatra)-Basing on the report of the Complt. Sri Pradipta Chandra Das S/o. Sri Priyanath Das, Asst. Teacher, Sujapur Primary School, Cuttack, the above noted case has been registered against Sri Paramananda Mishra, Block Education Officer, Sadar Block, Cuttack for demanding illegal gratification of Rs.5,000/- from him to process the file for regularization of medical leave, increment for the year 2016 and  updating service book etc.The gist of the case is that the Complt. Sri Pradipta Chandra Das is working as Asst. Teacher, Sujapur Primary School, Pirbazar, Cuttack. Due to sickness, he remained absent from the school and in order to regularize the leave, he submitted medical certificate etc. to the BDO, Sadar Block, Cuttack. He repeatedly requested Sri Paramananda Mishra to process the file, but he (accused) demanded Rs.5,000/- from the complt. for the above purpose. Accordingly, a trap was laid on 30.11.2016. The accused Sri Mishra was caught red handed in his residential house situated at Rajendra Nagar, Madhupatana, while demanding and accepting bribe money of Rs.5,000/- from the Complt. The bribe money has been recovered from the possession of Sri Mishra.  The accused has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court. The residential house of Sri Mishra is being searched.

Senior Clerk, office of the Tahasildar, Balikuda arrested by Vigilance on graft charge.

2Cuttack 30.11.2016 (By Tapas Mohapatra)Basing on the report of the Complt. Sri Dillip Kumar Jena,  S/o.Nagendra Nath Jena of village Arilo, P.S.Balikuda, Jagatsinghpur, the above noted case has been registered against Sri Pranakrushna Naik, Senior Clerk, office of the Tahasildar, Balikuda, Jagatsingpur for demanding illegal gratification of Rs.3300/- from him to issue RoRs (Patta) in his favour.  The gist of the case is that the Complt. Sri Dillip Kumar Jena had applied to the Tahasildar, Balikuda for issuance of RoRs in respect of eleven mutation cases. He repeatedly requested Sri Nayak to process the file, but he (accused) demanded Rs.3905/- from the complt. for the above purpose, although the prescribed Govt. fees is Rs.605/-.  Accordingly, a trap was laid on 30.11.2016. The accused Sri Nayak was caught red handed in his office room, situated inside the premises of Tahasildar Balikuda, while demanding and accepting bribe money of Rs.3300/- from the Complt. The bribe money has been recovered from the possession of Sri Nayak.  The accused has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court. The residential house of Sri Nayak situated at Narasighapur is being searched.

Conviction of Sri Gouranga Chandra Sahu, Ex-Asst. consolidation officer.

The gist of the case is that on the written report of the Complt. Sri Kanhu Charan Sahu, S/o. Late Muralidhar Sahu of village Chhoti, P.S./Dist. Kendrapada, the above noted case was registered against Sri Gouranga Chandra Sahu, Ex- Asst. Consolidation Officer, Matha sahi camp, Nikirai, Kendrapara for demand of illegal gratification of Rs.1200/- from him to finalise the land holding mutation cases bearing No.4528 to 4533. On completion of investigation, Charge sheet was placed against the accused Sri Gouranga Chandra Sahu to face his trial.     On 30.11.2016, the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack convicted the accused Sri Gouranga Chandra Sahu and sentenced him to undergo R.I. for 02 years and to pay fine of Rs.2,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for two months U/s 13(2) r/w13(1)(d) P.C. Act,1988. The Hon’ble Court further sentenced the accused to undergo R.I. for 01 year and to pay fine of Rs.1,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I. for one month for the offence U/s 7 PC Act. Both the sentences shall run concurrently.
