Anasangatha Sramik Manch submitted Memo to Deputy Zonal Commissioner of BMC
Bhubaneswar (19.11.2015)- In a bid to aware to the slum dwellers to construct toilet in houses and demanding clean and adequate public toilets for all and promote toilets in labour hubs city based voluntary organization named center for child and women development (CCWD), Action aid ,peoples vision of the city & Anan sangathita Sramik Manch odisha collaboratively organised an awareness meet on the occasion of world Toilet day at Niladri vihar slum(Rikshaw colony (B) under ward no-14 of Bhubaneswar municipal corporation here today. As many as 70 women including Domestic workers, self-help group took actively participated. In this meeting Regional manager of Action aid Debabrat patra, Sadasiv Swain secretary of CCWD, State convener Of Jana swasthaya Abiyan Gouranga Mohapatra deliberated the needs of Public toilets. The members of the Anasangathita Sramik Manch meet with Deputy Zonal Commissioner of BMC Shri Subransu Mishara and submitted a four Charter of Demand. The demand containing to build more toilets for women as per the Swatch Bharat Guideline , to make the exiting toilets functional and safe for women, to promote Bio toilets , stop manual scavenging in the public toilets, and to ensure toilets in labour hub. Jyotshnarani Mishra, Phulamani Patra, Praffula Dora, Kuni Nayak and others meet with Deputy Zonal Commissioner of BMC. The Deputy Zonal Commissioner also advised to submit a list of toilets for construction.
