Senior Clark of Bhatli Tahasil office caught by Vigilance on graft charge
Bargarh ,21.09.2016: Today i.e, on 21.9.2016 Sri Gobardhan Meher, Senior Clerk-cum-Nazir, Office of Tahasildar, Bhatli, Dist-Bargarh was caught by the Officers of Sambalpur Vigilance Division for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000/- from the Complainant Sri Sanjeeb Sahu, Vill- Kamgaon, PS-Bhatli, Dist- Bargarh. In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S Case No. 89 dt.21.09.2016 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 has been registered.Complainant Sri Sanjeeb Sahu alleged that he was granted Rs.13,600/- for drought compensation. He requested the accused Sri Gobardhan Meher, Senior Clerk to release his drought compensation cheque. Accused Sri Meher demanded Rs. 5,000/- for the above purpose. Finding no other way, the complainant reported to Vigilance. As per direction of S.P, Vigilance, Sambalpur, a trap was laid on dt.21.9.2016. Accused Sri Meher was caught red handed in his office room by the Vigilance Officers of Sambalpur Division while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000/- from the Complainant Sri Sahu. Bribe money of Rs. 5,000/- has been recovered from the possession of Sri Meher, Senior Clerk and seized in presence of witnesses. Hand & pant pocket wash of accused Sri Meher gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe.
