INTENSIVE CLEANLINESS DRIVE AT BHUBANESWAR AND OTHER RAILWAY STATIONS.
Bhubaneswar, 17.09.2016, (By Biswaranjan Mishra)- In order to spread wider awareness on sanitation and cleanliness in rail premises and make hygiene a habit amongst the travelling public, East Coast Railway is organizing a special nine-day long public awareness programme scheduled from 17th September to 25th September 2016 under the Swachh Rail-Swachh Bharat Mission. Commencing the day starting from today as Swachh Paryavaran Diwas (Clean Environment), various initiatives & activities have been undertaken. Keeping in view the above program, East Coast Railway undertook intensive cleanliness drives at all stations. Awareness Posters and banners have been placed at different locations of Railway premises to educate travelling public that the Railway is their travelling home. All major stations on the East Coast Railway were inspected by higher level officers of ECoR and supervisory cadres. A drive on garbage handling and disposal was also undertaken at Railway Stations, Trains and Depots. Beautification of Station premises by pruning of trees, plantation and landscaping was undertaken. East Coast Railway appeals to all Rail Users to express their solidarity through greater public support and an active public co-operation to make the Railways a place of pride and rail journey a pleasant experience.
