Revenue inspector in Vigilance graft Case
Cuttack.27.08.2016 (By Tapas Mohapatra)-Today i.e. on 27.08.2016 Sri Biswambar Mohapatra, Revenue Inspector, Singhapada, Khandapada Tahasil, Dist- Nayagarh has been caught by the Officers of Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1,500/- from the Complainant Sri Bhagaban Samal, Vill- Patharaganda, PS- Khandapada, Dist- Nayagarh. In this connection Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No. 37 dt.26.08.2016 U/s 7 P.C. Act. 1988 has been registered. Complainant Sri Bhagaban Samal alleged that his father had applied for mutation of land in the office of Tahasildar, Khandapada. Sri Biswambar Mohapatra, R.I. received the mutation file for verification and report. Sri Mohapatra issued notice to the parties to attend his office on 20.8.16 for enquiry. Complainant Sri Samal & his father met Sri Mohapatra, R.I where he demanded Rs.4,000/- from the complainant. When the Complainant Sri Samal expressed his inability accused Sri Mohapatra, R.I reduced the demanded amount to Rs.2,500/- and instantly received Rs.1,000/- from complainant. He asked the complainant to pay the rest amount of Rs.1,500/- on 27.8.16 for submission of report in the above mutation cases. Thereafter Sri Samal reported the matter to Vigilance. As per direction of S.P, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, a trap was laid on 27.8.2016. Accused Sri Biswambar Mohapatra, R.I was caught red handed in his office room by the officers of Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1,500/- from the Complainant Sri Samal. Bribe money of Rs.1,500/- has been recovered from the possession of Sri Mohapatra and seized in presence of witnesses. Sri Biswambar Mohapatra, Revenue Inspector, Singhapada, Khandapada Tahasil, Dist- Nayagarh entered in the Government Service as Revenue Inspector on 14.08.1997 and was posted as R.I. Khandapada Tahsil. Subsequently he was posted as R.I. Nayagarh, Tahsil, Dashpalla, Gania, Odagan and Nayagarh respectively. Presently he is working as R.I. Singapada under Khandapada Tahsil.
