Cuttack. 17.08.2016 (By Tapas Mahapatra)-Today i.e. on 17.8.2016 Sri Chitaranjan Beura, Forest Range Officer, Mahabirod Range under DFO, Dhenkanal was caught by the Officers of Cuttack Vigilance Division for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1,50,000/- from the Complainant Sri Pradipta Kumar Bhanj, Forester, Dadarghati Section under Mahabirod Range, Dhenkanal.  In this connection Cuttack Vigilance P.S Case No. 45 dt.16.08.2016 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 has been registered.  Complainant Sri Pradipta Kumar Bhanja alleged that he had taken the execution of Jagannath Bana Prakalpa with an estimated cost of Rs.11,14,300/- and taken advance of Rs.6,79,500/- and the project is continuing. He requested Sri Chitaranjan Beura, Forest Range Officer for release of the rest amount of Rs. 4,34,800/-.  Accused   Sri Beura demanded Rs. 1,50,000/- for the same.  Finding no other way, the Complainant reported to Vigilance.As per direction of S.P, Vigilance, Cuttack, a trap was laid on dt.17.8.2016. Accused Sri Beura was caught red handed in his office room at Mahabirod Range, Dhenkanal by the Officers of Cuttack Vigilance Division while demanding and accepting bribe of  Rs.1,50,000/- from the Complainant Sri Bhanj. Bribe money of   Rs.1,50,000/- has been recovered from the possession of Sri Beura and seized in presence of witnesses. Hand wash of accd. Sri Beura, Forest Range Officer gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe.
