AMRI Hospitals has successfully conducted a free Orthopedic surgery Camp
Bhubaneswar ,9th August 2016 (Mano Mani Singh)-9th Aug, 2016: AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, the Super Specialty Hospital from AMRI Hospitals Ltd, has successfully conducted a free Orthopaedic surgery for achieving the targeted 5000 free orthopaedic surgeries in India bythe Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA).Indian Orthopedic Association (IOA) is one of the largest Academic Professional Organisations of doctors, consisting ofnearly 12,000 Life members from the length and breadth of INDIA spanning across 22 States and Hundreds of cities and thousands of districts. The IOA embarked and obtained the permission from the Govt. of India to observe 4th August of every year, as the National Bone and Joint Day. This year IOA decided to conduct free surgeries on the 3rd, 4th and 5 thof August, 2016, which would benefit thousands of patients who are more on the underprivileged and lower socio economic strata. For this noble initiative, AMRI Hospitals also extended its support to help the poor and needy people.Reputed Orthopedics & Joint Replacement surgeon, Dr. P C Dey of AMRI Hospitals successfully made knee surgery of aneedy patient named Prakash Chandra Behera from Jaleswar, Balasore District of Odisha. Dr. P.C. Dey, who is a Lifemember of IOA told that, “This noble act of conducting free surgeries is a concern towards the needy sections of the society. This will create an opportunity to benefit thousands of people from the poor or lower socioeconomic strata. Wehave a target of at least one free surgery by every member. The financial beneficial impact will indeed be very large.”The overwhelmed cured patient Mr. Prakash Chandra Behera, whose injured right knee arthroscopy surgery wassuccessfully operated by Dr. Dey, had conveyed his gratitude to the AMRI Hospitals and IOA. “Such a noble gesture has helped Mr. Prakash Chandra Behera get rid of the distortion and has also helped him regain his confidence andnormality in life, said Dr. Salil Kumar Mohanty, VP, AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar.
