State Vigilance Police activities on 5th August

HOUSE SEARCH OF  ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN  BY  VIGILANCE ON DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS ANGLE:

Cuttack,05.08.2016 (By Tapas Mahapatra)-To day i.e. on 5.8.16  on the allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets by Sri Prasant Kumar Kar, Assistant Librarian, Directorate of Teachers Education & State Council of Educational Research & Training, Odisha, Bhubaneswar,  his (1)  Two residential buildings at  Telenga Pentha, Dist-Cuttack    (2) Paternal house  at  Gopinathpur, P.S- Nemal Dist-Cuttack (3)  Govt. quarter  at   Unit-9, Bhubaneswar (4) House of Father-in-law house at  Nilakanthapur P.S- Narasinghpur, Dist-Cuttack    (5) Office room at  Bhubaneswar  were simultaneously searched  by the Officers of   Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division    on the strength of  search warrant issued by Court.    During search, so far the following movable and immovable assets with approximate cost mentioned against each have been detected   in possession of Sri  Prasant Kumar Kar  in his name and in the name of his family members.

The total  immovable & movable asset of Sri Prasant Kumar Kar, Assistant Librarian has been so far   calculated  to Rs.1,16,85,924/-.Sri Prasant Kumar Kar  entered into Govt. service as  Class-IV employee in the year 1988  in the office of  Director, TE & SCERT, Bhubaneswar. He was promoted to the rank of  Asst.  Librarian in the year 2008 and is continuing as Asst. Librarian in the same office.

HOUSE SEARCH OF  JUNIOR ENGINEER  BY  VIGILANCE ON   DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS ANGLE :

2       Today i.e. on 5.8.16  on the allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets by Sri Cheru Meher, Junior Engineer (Electrical) Electrical Sub-Division, Lift Irrigation, Bhawanipatna, Dist-Kalahandi  his (1)  Residential house at Shantinagarpada, Bhawanipatna (2) Office chamber at  Bhawanipatna (3)  Single storied building at  Gadramunda, Phakatpara, Khariar Dist-Nuapada (4) Parental house at    Vill- Duajhar P.S- Khariar Dist-Nuapada   were simultaneously searched  by the Officers of   Koraput Vigilance Division    on the strength of  search warrant issued by Court.     During search, so far the following movable and immovable assets with approximate cost mentioned against each have been detected   in possession of Sri  Cheru Meher  in his name and in the name of his family members.

The total  immovable & movable asset of Sri Cheru Meher, Junior Engineer (Electrical) Electrical Sub-Division, Lift Irrigation, Bhawanipatna, Dist-Kalahandi has been so far   calculated  to Rs.64,90,679/-. Besides  one locker in  the name of Sri Cheru Meher at  Union Bank of India, Bhawanipatna is yet to be opened.Sri Cheru Meher,  entered into Govt. service as Junior Engineer (Electrical) in the year 1986 at Kalahandi District.

JUNIOR ENGINEER IN VIGILANCE NET ON GRAFT CHARGE.

   Today i.e. on 05.08.2016  Sri Nageswar Das, GPTA (Junior Engineer), Barkote Block, Dist- Deogarh has been caught by Vigilance Officers of  Sambalpur Division for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.25,000/- from the complainant  Sri Muni Ch. Kishan.  In this connection Sambalpur Vigilance P.S case   No. 76 dt.4.08.2016 u/s  7 P.C.Act has been registered.   The complainant Sri Muni Ch. Kishan alleged that he had executed Cement Concrete Road of Barkote Block with an estimated cost of  Rs.2,00,000/- which was sanctioned under Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana. Junior Engineer Sri Nageswar Das has already measured the work. But after submission of final bill, he demanded Rs.25,000/- from Complt. for the purpose.  Thereafter complainant     Sri Kishan reported to Vigilance. As per direction of S.P, Vigilance, Sambalpur Division, a  trap was laid on 5.08.2016.  Accused Sri Nageswar Das, J.E was caught red handed by Vigilance Officers of Sambalpur Division while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.25,000/- from the Complt  Sri Kishan.  Bribe money Rs.25,000/- has been recovered from the possession of   Sri Das, J.E and seized in presence of witnesses. Hand and pant pocket wash of Sri Das, J.E gave positive  chemical  reaction confirming  acceptance of bribe.

S.D.O & JUNIOR ENGINEER IN VIGILANCE NET ON GRAFT CHARGE.

Today i.e. on  5.08.2016  Sri Deepak Kumar Baral, S.D.O-cum- Executive Engineer & Sri Sushanta Kishore Swain, Junior Engineer both of RWSS Division, Bhadrak  have been caught by Vigilance Officers of  Balasore Division for demanding   bribe of Rs.5,000/- & Rs.18,000/- respectively from the complainant   Sri Sudhakar Nayak, Contractor, Vill- Jhilo, Badasahi Dist-Bhadrak.  In this connection Balasore Vigilance P.S case   No. 40 dt.4.08.2016 u/s  7 P.C.Act has been registered.  The complainant Sri Sudhakar Nayak, Contractor alleged that he had executed  the repair  work  of roof slab and flooring etc. of RWS&S Sub-Division Building, Bhadrak with an estimated cost of Rs.3,00,567/-. Complt. Sri Nayak requested both the accused Sri Baral, SDO & Sri Swain, J.E to pass the final bill. But the accused SDO and J.E demanded Rs.5,000/- & Rs.18,000/- respectively for this purpose.  Thereafter complainant Sri Nayak reported to Vigilance.  As per direction of S.P, Vigilance, Balasore Division, a trap was laid on 5.08.2016.  Both the accused Sri  Deepak Kumar Baral, SDO & Sri Sushanta Kishore Swain, J.E were caught red handed by Vigilance Officers of Balasore Division while demanding and  accepting bribe of Rs.5,000/- & Rs.18,000/- respectively from the Complt . Sri Nayak.  Bribe money   has been recovered from the possession of both the accused and seized in presence of witnesses. Hand   wash of both the accused persons gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe. The investigation of the case is in progress.
