Cuttack ,03.08.2016 (By Tapas Mahapatra)-To day i.e. on 03.08.2016 on the allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets by Sri Bijay Kumar Padhi, Science Teacher, Kulihari High School, Dist. Kalahandi his (1) residential house at village Junagarh (Near weekly Market), Dist. Kalahandi (2) single storied house at Sitabardi near Govt. Autonomous College, Bhawanipatna, (3) house of Sri Padhi at Village Kulihari, Dist. Kalahndi, (4) his Office chamber inside the Kulihari High School premises, Kulihari, Dist.Kalahandi & (5) his paternal house at Junagarh, Dist. Kalahandi were simultaneously searched by the Officers of Koraput Vigilance Division on the strength of search warrant issued by the Court. During search so far, following movable and immovable assets with approximate cost mentioned against each have been detected in possession of Sri Bijay Kumar Padhi in his name as well as in the name of his other family members.

Total assets of Sri Bijay Kumar Padhi, Science Teacher detected and calculated so far comes to Rs.1,35,39,933/- which is likely to increase further during course of investigation. Sri Bijay Kumar Padhi entered into Govt. service as Asst. Teacher in the year 1990. Further search & investigation are under progress.
CLERK CAUGHT BY VIGILANCE ON GRAFT CHARGE.
In another incident on 03.08.2016 Sri Arun Kumar Nayak, Jr. Clerk, Office of Rural Works Division, Rourkela has been caught red handed by the Vigilance Officers of Sambalpur Division while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.7,000/- from the Complainant Sri Jogeswar Sharma of Contractorpada, Biramitrapur, Dist. Sundargarh. In this connection Sambalpur Vigilance P.S Case No. 75 dt.02.08.2016 u/s 7 P.C.Act, 1988 has been registered. Complainant Sri Jogeswar Sharma alleged that he was entrusted for execution of work with an estimated cost of Rs.8,90,000/- for “Repaire and construction of Addl. Class Rooms for Panchayat Samiti High School, Nuagaon”. Complainant Sri Sharma executed the work in the month of May, 2016. Out of that estimated cost a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- was withheld. After completion of the work, he requested the Office Dealing Assistant Sri Arun Kumar Nayajk, Rural Works Division, Office, Rourkela to process the file to get his withheld amount. But Sri Nayak, Jr. Clerk delayed the matter demanding Rs.7,000/- for processing the file to get his withheld amount. Then, against his will he agreed to pay the amount and reported the Vigilance. As per direction of S.P, Vigilance, Sambalpur, a trap was laid on 03.08.2016. Accused Sri Arun Kumar Nayak, Jr. Clerk was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.7,000/- from the Complainant Sri Jogeswar Sharma. Both the hand wash and pant pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe. The bribe money of Rs.7,000/- was recovered from the possession of Sri Nayak, Jr.Clerk and has also been seized in presence of the witnesses.
