SSNT has now ventured out for a school for special children (as mentioned as Divyaang by our Hon’ble Prime Minister), named as WOOD-APPLE, at Bhubaneswar this year. WOOD-APPLE’s objective is to reach out to the special needs of visually impaired, hearing impaired, mentally challenged autism, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities children. In the context, the founders of WOOD-APPLE Mrs Rita Baliarsingh and Mrs Shanta Baliarsingh mentioned that it has developed specially designed instructions and has made modifications in the educational program, such as curriculum and teaching methods, which is required for every single special child uniquely. Further, WOOD APPLE is working towards reaching out to the deprived slum children for addressing the cause. Apart from this, WOOD-APPLE aims to impart special classes for school going children and create livelihood through vocational training courses. SSNT is in the process of developing requisite infrastructure and resources to address issues related to the purpose. There is still a lot to be addressed for these special children in the society. Shree Sai Niketan Trust (SSNT), established in the year 2012 has successfully conducted programs for sanitation, women empowerment, AIDS awareness, safety awareness and several competitions, cultural activities & camps for deprived children, from slums & orphanage.
