Chain Man & Senor Clark Convicted in Vigilance Case

Cuttack 30.07.2016 (By Tapas Mahapatra)-Today ie on 30.07.2016 Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance,  Cuttack convicted Sri Maheswar Sahoo, Ex-Chainman District Record Room Collectorate Jagatsingpur u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 P.C Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.500/-. The Hon’ble Court sentenced Sri Maheswar  Sahoo to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment  for period of  one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- in default of payment of fine to further undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for two months for the offence u/s 7 PC Act. Further sentenced to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment  for period of  one year  and to pay a fine of Rs.2,000/- in default of payment of fine to further undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for two months for the offence u/s 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d)  PC Act.  It relates to Cuttack Vigilance P.S case No.80 dt.29.11.2011 u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) / 7 P.C.Act 1988. The case was registered against Sri Maheswar Sahoo Ex- Chainman District Record Room Jagatsinghpur Collectorate Jagatsinghpur for demand of illegal gratification of Rs.500/-from the complainant     Sri Dillip Kumar Panda for supplying certified copies of R.O.Rs.   During course of investigation Sri Sahoo was caught red handed by Vigilance Officers on 30.11.2011 while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.500/- from the complaint   Sri Panda. He was arrested on 30.11.2011 and forwarded to court on 01.12.2011 and he was remanded to jail custody.  Sri Sarat Kumar Sahoo Ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Jagatsinghpur Unit under Cuttack Division was the I.O of the case &  Sri J.M. Das , Special P.P, Vigilance, Cuttack conducted the case on behalf of prosecution.

  Similarly on 30.07.2016 Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance,  Balasore convicted Sri Sanjaya Kumar Sahoo, the then Senior Clerk, Govt. ITI Balasore, At/Present Sr. Clerk Govt. ITI Baripada Dist-Mayurbhanj  u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 P.C Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.1000/-. The Hon’ble Court sentenced Sri Sanjaya Kumar Sahoo to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment  for period of  Six month and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- in default of payment of fine to further undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for one month for the offence u/s 7 PC Act.Further sentenced to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment  for period of  two years  and to pay a fine of Rs.2,000/- in default of payment of fine to further undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for two months for the offence u/s 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d)  PC Act. Both the sentences are to run concurrently.   It relates to Balasore Vigilance P.S case No.28 dt.22.06.2004 u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) / 7 P.C.Act 1988. The case was registered against Sri Sanjaya Kumar Sahoo Ex- Sr. Clerk Govt. ITI Balasore for demand of illegal gratification of Rs.1000/-from the complainant Sri Debendra Kumar Sukla of Village Banitia to give interview call letter for apprenticeship at Pollar Latex Ltd. During course of investigation Sri Sahoo was caught red handed by Vigilance Officers in his office room on 23.06.2004 after he received the bribe amount of Rs.1,000/- from the complaint    Sri Sukla. He was arrested on 23.06.2004 and forwarded to court on 24.06.2004 and he was remanded to jail custody.  Sri M. Kujur, Ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Balasore Division  was the I.O of the case &  Sri SK. Nizamuddin , Special P.P, Vigilance, Balasore conducted the case on behalf of prosecution.
