Cuttack-29.06.2016 (By Tapas Mahapatra)-Today i.e on 29.6.16 Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Special Court, Bhubaneswar convicted Sri Laxmidhar Bhoi, IFS, Ex- DFO, Kenduleaf Division, Kuchinda, Sambalpur (Retd.) u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) P.C Act after finding him guilty of possessing disproportionate assets worth of Rs.8,06,422/-. The Hon’ble Court sentenced Sri Laxmidhar Bhoi to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.3,00,000/- in default to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 6 months. It relates to Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.71 dt.28.12.97 u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) P.C.Act which was registered against Sri Laxmidhar Bhoi, IFS, DFO (Kenduleaf), Kuchinda, Sambalpur on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets to his known sources of income. On 26.12.97 & 27.12.97 his official residence & office chamber at Kuchinda, Sambalpur & residential house at Geetagram, Angul were searched simultaneously to detect disproportionate assets. After investigation charge sheet was placed against Sri Laxmidhar Bhoi, IFS, Ex-DFO, Kenduleaf Division, Sambalpur on 31.5.02 for possession of disproportionate assets worth of Rs. 11,87,347/-.Sri Laxmidhar Bhoi was joined in Govt. service as Forest Ranger on 03.10.1962 thereafter he promoted to the rank of Asst. Conservator of Forest in the year 1972, to the rank of Deputy Conservator of Forest in the year 1987 . He was Divisional Forest Officer (Kendu Leaf) in Jeypur Kendu Leaf Division and Kuchinda Kendu Leaf Division from 1992 till 2002. He retired on 31.3.2002. Sri Sunil Kumar Pati, Special P.P, Special Court Vigilance, Bhubaneswar was conducting the case and Sri P.Ch. Mishra, Ex- Inspector of Police, Vigilance, Paralakhemundi was the Investigating Officer of the case.
