Bhubaneswar , 18/06/2016 (By Mano Mani Singh) Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) isdeveloping a Greenfield Electronics Park in an area of 203 acres within Info-Valley, Bhubaneswar. It was conceptualised in the year 2014 is now getting ready to house around 100 Units of electronics manufacturing cluster with state of theart, infrastructure and common facilities. The master planning has been done by M/s. Jurong Consultants, Singapore. The cluster has been accorded final approval under (EMC) Scheme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in a High Level Meeting held on to-day i.e on 17.6.2016 at New Delhi in which the Union Secretary of DeitY, Sri Sanjeev Chopra, Principal Secretary, Industries Deptt., GoO, Sri Pradeep Ku. Jena, Principal Secretary, Electronics & LT.Department,GOO and Sri Sanjay Singh, M.D., IDCO, Bhubaneswar were present.The core infrastructure like road, provision of power and water etc. for the said park is almost ready and finalized. It is expected to attract an investment to thetune of Rs.1000 crore. For the project, Govt. of Odisha has given 203.367 acres of land in the village Iarapur and Durgapur of Khurda district and providing around Rs.110 crore and the DeitY will provide Rs.95 crore as told by Shri Debi Prasad Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, Industries & School & Mass Education, Odisha. \Electronics Manufacturing has been recognized as one of the five focus sectors by the State to attract investments. Government of Odisha has formulated attractive investor-friendly policies such as Industrial Policy Resolution 2015 and ICT Policy 2014 to facilitate and incentivize investors in the electronics manufacturing sector. In addition, the State has a Special Incentive Package Scheme which provides incentives to electronics manufacturing companies over and above the m-SIPS scheme of Government of India. The project envisages to create an attractive ecosystem for Electronics manufacturing industry in the State and boost employment opportunities for the youth in the State. Ready-to-use plug-and-play facilities are proposed to be set up in the park with excellent transport connectivity through air, rail and roads. Besides, Bhubaneswar is considered an ideal location for the park because of abundant availability of skilled manpower made available through reputed technical and management institutions. The city has also topped the Smart City Challenge of the Government of India from amongst the 97 other cities and is emerging as one of the most preferred cities in the country to live in and do business.It is pertinent to note that several national and international companies operating in electronics sector have shown interest in setting up manufacturing facilities in Odisha. The State had received significant interest from various companies during the Odisha Investors’ Meet held on 14th_15th February at Mumbai where Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik led a State level delegation to project the new business opportunities and the investment eco system in the State.The Department of Industries and the Department of Electronics & LT. are working in tandem to make this Greenfield Electronics Park a reality by developing global standard infrastructure which will attract investment near the capital city. In the joint road show of Electronics & LT. and Industries Departments recently at Silicon Valley, U.S.A. and earlier in Taiwan, many investors have evinced their interest to put up their manufacturing facility which will generate employment in Odisha.
