Departmentally Related Standing Committee on Agriculture Invites Suggestion on the Subject ‘Comprehensive Agriculture Research based on Geographical Condition and Impact of Climatic Changes to ensure Food Security in the Country’

New Delhi,09.11.2015::he Departmentally Related Standing Committee on Agriculture under the Chairmanship of Shri Hukm Deo Narayan Yadav, M.P. have taken up the Subject ‘Comprehensive Agriculture Research based on Geographical Condition and Impact of Climatic Changes to ensure Food Security in the Country’ for examination and Report.

With a view to have wider consultations and a holistic view on the Subject, the Committee have decided to invite memoranda containing views and suggestion of experts, individuals, institutions, organization and other stakeholders interested with the subject matter on the issues such as need to evolve new varieties of Crops which can withstand climatic fluctuation; requirement to evolve improved methods of irrigation; need to popularize consumption of crops/fruits which can provide better nutrition; need to develop indigenous verities of Cattle that can withstand extreme climatic stress; need to develop system for Precision Horticulture and protected cultivation; diversification of species of Fish to enhance production from Fisheries Sector; need to strengthen Agriculture Extension System ; focus on Agriculture Education etc.

Those desirous of submitting memorandum may send two copies thereof, either in Hindi or English to THE DIRECTOR (R&A), LOK SABHA SECRETARIAT ROOM NO. 152, PARLIAMENT HOUSE ANNEXE, NEW DELHI-110001, TEL.NO. 23034178, FAX NO. 23016580, e-mail agricom@sansad.nic.in within three weeks from the date of publication of this advertisement. The Committee would, thereafter, also take Oral Evidence on the Subject. Those who wish to appear before the Committee, beside submitting memorandum, are requested to specifically indicate so. However, the Committee’s decision in the regard shall be final.

The memorandum submitted to the Committee would form part of the record of the Committee and would be treated as strictly ‘Confidential’ and not circulated to anyone, as such an act would constitute a breach of privilege of the Committee.
