Bhubaneswar,09.10.2015:: A Training Progamme was conducted by the Deptt. of Public Enterprises for the Officers of different State PSUs on the maintenance and handling of Computers as a first step for the Office automation of the State PSUs in IDCOL Auditorium.
The Commissioner-cum-Secretary, DPE welcomed the participants, attended from different State PSUs and expressed his intention to develop the Office Automation System by utilising the existing computer system/personnel available in the Corporations. He has expressed that the workshop will develop the basic concept on Computer Fundamentals and working knowledge of the PSU Employees. The work sphere the PSUs will be encouraging and lively thereby sprouting interest in their mind. The PSUs will witness all round progress in every sphere.
Sri Swarup Ranjan Mohapatra, OPEPA & Sri Santanu Kumar Mohapatra, CMGI attended the Training as Recourse persons. Both have presented the Fundamentals regarding Computer Hardware and Software in the workshop in an interactive manner with the participants. About eighty participants from different PSUs have attended the training which will be immensely helpful in achieving the Office Automation System of the State PSUs. This training is also a part of the capacity building programme for the employees of the State PSUs, which is also the present mandate of the Department.
A Workshop on the amended Companies Act, 2013 was organised for the Managing Director/ CMD and other Directors of the State PSUs by the Department of Public Enterprises recently at Bhubaneswar.Hon’ble Minister, Public Enterprises and Finance was inaugurated the workshop and stressed upon for the development of the State PSUs in general and their employees in particular. While addressing, the Hon’ble Minister has expressed regarding extension of the tenure of State Renewal Funds Society (OSRFS) under the Department of Public Enterprises for a further period of five years w.e.f. 03.12.2014 to accelerate the reform process of State PSUs for their improvement of Financial health & Human Resources. He has also addressed in the workshop on various applicable provisions of the amended Companies Act, 2013 and other Corporate Laws which will be very much helpful for discharging the official duties and responsibilities as Managing Director, CMD, Functional Directors and Independent Directors of the PSUs .Sri Vijay Arora, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises emphasised for smooth working and safe custody of the assets of the PSUs. He has also proposed to reward the efficient employees of the PSUs, which will create enthusiasm among the employees of the Corporation to develop positive attitude.
On this occasion the Hon’ble Minister has unvailed the compendium published by the Department of Public Enterprises on the circulars and office orders issued for the PSUs since 1995 to 2015which will be immensely helpful for the state PSUs and the relevant Departments.The workshop was attended about hundred participants. Sri A.K. Parida, Addl. Secretary, DPE gave the welcome speech and Sri M.S. Mishra, Deputy Director, DPE gave the vote of thanks in the Workshop.
