Hindi rendition of ‘Sarala Mahabharat’, penned by Adikabi Sarala Das
will be released on 17th at India International Center, Delhi. The translation,
a milestone initiative of Odisha Sahitya Akademy, is aimed to reach wider
readership in Indian context. The work is a unique literally document with
ample testimony on the classical status of Odia language.
Sri Ashok Chandra Panda, Minister, Tourism & Culture, Odisha along
with Dr. Biswanath Prasad Tiwari, President of Central Sahitya Akademy
Delhi and other celebrated scholars will grace the programme. The book
release will be followed by a seminar on ‘Subaltern Voice in Contemporary
Indian Fiction’ in which renowned academicians and critics will present their
views. An exhibition-cum-sell of the works published by the Akademy is
also being organised on the occasion.
