Bhubaneswar ,28th June 2015 : (By Biswaranjan Mishra): Resignation of chief minister Naveen Patnaik was demanded by Narasingh Mishra the leader of opposition in the state legislative assembly in a press conference here on the Sunday over the failure to protect the interest of the Jagannath lovers and the devotees on Brhamaparibartan of the deities. Mishra demanded judicial probe into Brahmaparibartan fiasco by a sitting high court justice to find out the guilty.Mishra along with congress leaders congress leaders Kishore Patel former speaker of the House, Jagannath Patnaik, Ananta Sethi, Prakash Behera and Anuman Mohanty the MLAs from Rajnagar and Salepur respectively discussed the issue with the district collector Arabind Agarwal and superintendent of police Asish Kumar Singh and studied the servitors” Record of rights” book to ascertain the role and duties of the Daita servitors during the Brahamaparibartan ritual. They too met Daitapati Binayak Dasmahapatra who performed the role of the Biswabasu in the Banajag ritual.
Allegation of theft of Brahama is a very serious issue and the ongoing revelations have hurt the religious sentiments of millions of Jagannath lovers and devotees said Mishra. The government measurably failed to carry out this important ritual of the deities. He attributed the failure to the chief minister Naveen Pattnaik who he alleged never took this issue seriously. Naveen Patnaik inflicted “Kutharaghat”(strabbing) in the faith and believe of devotees. Suspension of two daitapatis is an eye wash. The chief minister should resign demanded Narasingh Mishra the leader of opposition. Adequate steps should be taken for smooth conduct of Rath Yatra of the deities Mishra added.
