Sambalpur .27th Mat 2015 (Photo: Aman Saluja) :Awareness on Environmental issues through organisation of Environment Fortnight in the peripheral villages of MCL, HQ, Jagruti Vihar Burla.MCL is Celebrating Environment Fortnight from 25/05/2015 to 05/06/2015, to spread awareness on environmental issues and to sensitize the public on protection of the environment and inculcate the message of Swachh Bharat in all the villages. In an unique initiatives, Environment Department, MCL, HQ has teamed up with Jagruti Mahila Mandal to spread environmental awareness by organizing events like painting & quiz on environment for children & youth, Rangloli & “Waste is also precious” for women & family, Best eco-friendly house & best village in nine peripheral villages. On 25.05.15 from 7.30 am to 11.30 am, the above programme was held at Durgapalli Village. The entire village overwhelmingly participated in all the events – painting & quiz on environment for children & youth, Rangloli & “Waste is also precious” for women & family. The painting competition saw the participation of 43 children while for Rangoli competition the participation came from 25 women. Prizes for each category of the event was given away by the members of Jagruti Mahila Mandal on the same day. On the same day i.e. 25.05.15 from 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm similar programme was held at Katapalli Village, school. Total 41 children participated in painting competition.52 persons participated in Quiz competition. In Rangoli competition 45 women & children participated. On 26.05.15 from 7.30 am to 11.30 am similar programme was held at Regulatory Para Village. Total 55 children participated in painting competition.27 persons participated in Quiz competition. In Rangoli competition 35 women & children participated. On the same day i.e. 26.05.15 from 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm similar programme was held at Golgunda Village, school. Total 70 children participated in painting competition.42 persons participated in Quiz competition. In Rangoli competition 34 women & children participated. On 27.05.15 from 7.30 am to 11.30 am similar programme was held at Madia Dunguri Village, school. Total 48 children participated in painting competition.26 persons participated in Quiz competition. In Rangoli competition 27 women & children participated. Prizes for each category of the event was given away by the members of Jagruti Mahila Mandal on the same day. Consolation prizes were given to all participants of Rangoli competition. Prizes for the best eco-friendly house was also given.Further similar completions will take place in Kirba Village on 27/05/15 afternoon. In Panitanki Para on 29/05/15 forenoon & at Ghosal in afternoon. On 30/05/15 at Sadeipalli Village.
